The decision

Custom or Modular: Which Fits Your Exhibiting Plan?

A custom stall is designed and built for one brand and one show. A modular stall uses a reusable frame system that you reconfigure and re-brand for each show. Neither is better in general. The right choice depends on how often you exhibit and how different each stand space is.

First-show costUsually lowerUsually higher (commonly PKR 150,000–500,000)
Cost over 3+ showsRebuilt each timeOften cheaper per show, since mostly graphics change
Design freedomVery high: curves, unique shapes, second floorsGood, within system limits

StorageNone neededYou must store the frame between shows

Rule of thumb

A Simple Break-Even Test

If a modular system costs PKR 300,000 and a comparable custom stall costs PKR 180,000 each time, modular pays back at the second or third use once graphics and storage are included. The exact break-even depends on your quotes, so ask for both options side by side.

These figures are an illustration, not a price list. See the Karachi cost guide for typical budgets.

Which Should You Choose?

01

One flagship show a year

Custom. Spend on a design that stands out and do not carry storage costs.

02

Three or more shows a year

Modular. Reuse the frame and change graphics and furniture per show.

03

Very different stand sizes each time

Custom, or a modular system with generous size flexibility.

04

Tight timeline

Modular for repeat shows, because the frame already exists.

05

Complex structure (curves, two storeys)

Custom. Modular systems have limits for these.

06

Not sure yet

Start custom for the first show with modular-ready design, or ask us to quote both.

Either route follows the same stages: the stand is approved as a 3D exhibition booth design first, then built through our exhibition stall fabrication process.

Questions

Custom vs Modular FAQ

No. It costs more upfront and pays off only if you reuse it, usually three times or more.

Partly. Counters, frames and lighting can often be reused, but custom graphics and shapes are usually specific to one show.

Both can look excellent. Custom gives the most design freedom; modular is more constrained but more consistent across shows.
